Meghalaya mining mishap: Pumps installed in old shaft

According to official update from district administration, a team of Kirloskar prepared their submersible pump to be inserted inside the main shaft.

GUWAHATI: Odisha Fire Service on Thursday installed pump in old shaft situated at the downhill near the main shaft of the rat hole mine in Ksan in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district where 15 miners are trapped since last 20 days.

According to official update from district administration, a team of Kirloskar prepared their submersible pump to be inserted inside the main shaft.

The operation to rescue the miners in a 320-foot-deep illegal mine has not made much headway.
