President according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson, has accepted the resignation of Duggal from the post of Governor of Manipur and Mizoram.

NEW DELHI: Meghalaya Governor K K Paul was today given the additional charge of Manipur and Mizoram following the resignation of V K Duggal.

President Pranab Mukherjee, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson, has accepted the resignation of Duggal from the post of Governor of Manipur and Mizoram.

He was holding the Mizoram charge in an additional capacity.

"The President has been pleased to appoint Dr Krishan Kant Paul, Governor of Meghalaya, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur and the Governor of Mizoram in addition to his own duties until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Manipur and Governor of Mizoram are made," the spokesperson said.
