Ram Vilas Paswan, the 67-year-old LJP chief, who scripted a political alliance with Modi-led BJP on Thursday, has built a reputation in Delhi’s political circles as the surest indicator of which way the political wind will blow.

This reputation took a severe beating when he jumped out of the UPA-1 tent on the eve of 2009 LS polls only to land himself in political wilderness for five long years.
