Vaiko referred to the NHRC recommendation that CBI should probe the incident, which happened near Tirupati, against which the Andhra Pradesh government had secured a court stay.

Vaiko also urged Modi to withdraw the NDA government's Land Bill, saying, "Why he should be carrying the burden of a bad Bill moved by the Congress," and that it gave an impression that the Prime Minister was working for corporates' interest in this matter, the statement said.
