MCX staffer succumbs to Covid 19; Bourse ops to continue

An exchange official said that the Covid -induced demise of the staffer happened around 10 days after he left for home from the bourse, where he stayed 6 weeks running.

Mumbai: An MCX staffer, who stayed in the exchange for six weeks to run core operations during the initial phases of the lockdown, succumbed to Covid 19 . Around 8-9 staffers, who were on rotational duty subsequently, have tested positive for the disease.

An exchange official said that the Covid -induced demise of the staffer happened around 10 days after he left for home from the bourse, where he stayed 6 weeks running .

The official said the other staffers who tested positive were from the first rotational batch who lived on the exchange premises for 15 days . He added that they were isolated and that exchange operations would continue “uninterrupted.”
