NEW DELHI: Six people, including two MBA students, have been arrested in the national capital for kidnapping a teenaged boy and demanding a ransom of Rs 80 lakh to meet the losses they had incurred in the share market.

The 15-year-old boy, a student of Gyan Bharti school, was kidnapped last week from Saket in south Delhi when he was going to school. The boy was rescued on Sunday, a senior police officer said.

MBA students, Rohit Chopra (24) and Piyush Jain (24), along with Bharat Jham (21), a cousin of the victim, hired three criminals and kidnapped the boy, the official said.

Chopra and Jain had incurred huge losses in the share market and they conspired with Jham, who is not on good terms with the victim's family, to kidnap the boy and make up for the losses with the ransom, the official said.

After kidnapping the boy, they rang up the family and demanded a ransom of Rs 80 lakh.

Later, the family got in touch with the police, who rescued the boy, the officer said.
