Mayawati to rebuild Dalit base in UP
NEW DELHI: Mayawati, who resigned from the Rajya Sabha on July 18, claiming that her pro-Dalit voice was barely heard in the Upper House, is all set to build the eroding Dalit base in her home state.

And for this, she has decided to visit at least two divisions of UP every month beginning September 18 –– exactly two months after her resignation. She has chalked out her strategies in such a way as to directly reach out to her supporters by holding meetings in all 18 divisions of her state before May next year.

Sources said Mayawati held talks with BSP leaders, including MLAs and party functionaries in New Delhi on Sunday and collected feedback from party workers, particularly among SCs, about the initial reactions over her decision to resign from the Rajya Sabha.
