The politics of the country is pivoting on 'anti-BJPism', much like the 'anti-Congressism' of the past, said Mayawati in Lucknow on Tuesday after she was re-elected as BSP president.

The Centre not taking any step against the Supreme Court order on sub-categorisation within SCs and its observation on the 'creamy layer', is "unfortunate and painful", Mayawati said after she was unanimously elected to the party top post.

Talking about the party's future, Mayawati said despite electoral reverses, the BSP is not disappointed.

"It is persistently pursuing the goal of 'Bahujan Hitaye and Bahujan Sukhaye' (progress and prosperity of bahujans) on the strength of the Bahujan Samaj," she said.
