NEW DELHI: BSP national president Mayawati demanded a probe into the high deposits in bank accounts in last ten months period before the November 8 demonetisation decision She also accused the BJP of helping the big businessmen to settle their black money. .

“…..Notebandi Ke liye gaye faisale ke purva ke dus mahino ki avadhi mein desh mein jama hue dhan ki bhee jarur janch honi chahiye. Arthat is awadhi mein desh mein kitna dhan jama hua aur kin kin khaton mein record tod dhan jama hua,” BSP supremo Mayawati told reporters. She was addressing a press conference in Delhi on Saturday.

Keeping in view the coming assembly polls in five states, the Narendra Modi government has tried to divert people’s attention from its failure to fulfill the promises made during poll campaign in the 2014 LS polls by demonetisation decision, she further said. She claimed the decision was taken in haste without any preparation for its implementation. She added the decision, which has much to do with the political interest of the BJP, has created chaos across the country. She reiterated her old statement that the situation is like “economic emergency”.

She feels her party is only threat to BJP in the coming UP assembly polls. “Is Prakar Desh ke aise bane halaton mein, khaskar Uttar Pradesh mein jaldi hi hone wale vidhansabha aamchunav mein, BJP ko ekmatra khatara akele BSP se hee hai,” she further said.

She demanded the centre to remove the problems which people are facing in the wake of demonetisation decision. She also targetted CM Akhilesh Yadav and his party SP at the press conference.
