Mayawati asks BSP coordinators to woo youth, pick them in party committees

New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati has tasked her party’s coordinators to reach out to young voters in Uttar Pradesh, besides ensuring their proper representation in the party’s committees at the sector, assembly and district levels.

She has also picked BSP’s UP President Munquad Ali as her party’s coordinator for Agra and Aligarh divisions. “Apart from holding the post of BSP’s UP unit president, Munquad will also be party coordinator of Agra and Aligarh division,” a source in BSP told ET on Wednesday.

Sources said BSP coordinators- Naushad Ali and Madan Ram- will handle the party affairs in Varanasi and Azamgarh divisions. Shamsuddin Rayeen has been asked to see the party affairs in Saharanpur division as its coordinator, former state minister Ram Achal Rajbhar has been made the party coordinator in Allahabad division and Ghanshyam Chandra Kharwar has been tasked to handle party affairs in Faizabad and Basti zones.


Sources in BSP said Mayawati recently held talks with her party coordinators, who are considered to be the main link between the party chief and the party organization.

“This is the beginning of her preparation for the 2022 assembly polls in UP. She has asked her party leaders to for now follow social distancing norms in view of the corona crisis,” a source in BSP said.

The party coordinators will be in touch with the BSP functionaries in their areas concerned on the phone. “She wants to connect her party with every section of the society,” the source further added.
