Mars Orbiter Mission begins final orbit around Earth

HYDERABAD: The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) passed by its penultimate perigee early this morning.

"With this, the final orbit of MOM around Earth begins!" excited scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation ( Isro) informed on Wednesday.

Scientists were keenly looking forward for the penultimate perigee pass which was scheduled for 7.10am on November 27.

"MOM will walk around the Earth one last time — in its last orbit over the next four days and leave for Mars on Saturday night," Isro scientists said
