Marathi actor Nayak killed as vehicle skids
Marathi film and television actor Vihang Nayak was killed in an accident today after his vehicle skidded off the road in neighbouring Navi Mumbai.
Nayak, was travelling in a Tavera vehicle from Pune to Mumbai at around 6 am when the driver of the vehicle struck a divider on the highway and skidded off the road, they said.
The incident took place at the Shivkar village located near Panvel, police said. Both were taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival, they said.
Nayak has acted in several Hindi films including 'Takshak' and 'Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya'. A comedy actor, he played the character of the god Narad and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in the popular English play 'Bottoms Up' and starred in the film spin-off 'God Only Knows'.
The actor was also in the Marathi serial 'Auguji Sarkar' and has featured in advertisements as well.
