JUNE 16, 2008: A police van blown up in a landmine blast in Malkangiri district of Orissa. 21 policemen killed in the attack.

JUNE 29, 2008: Maoists attack a boat carrying Greyhound commandos on Balimela reservoir in Orissa killing 38 troops.

AUGUST 30, 2008: 12 policemen killed in a Maoist landmine blast in Jharkhand.

FEBRUARY 1, 2009: 15 police officers killed in Maharashtra in a shootout with Maoists.

APRIL 11, 2009: Maoists ambush and kill 10 policemen in Chhattisgarh.

APRIL 13, 2009: In an attack on a bauxite mine in Koraput district of Orissa 10 paramilitary troops killed.
