Maoist attack: Chhattisgarh Congress MLAs offer to resign 'en masse' from assembly
Mounting pressure on the Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh, Congress legislators have offered to resign en masse from the assembly to force dissolution of the house.

"We have lost our senior leaders, including the state PCC chief, in the Maoist ambush because of the security lapses and other failures on the part of BJP government. What is the point in continuing in the assembly when BJP government is in power and assembly polls are due within six months," a Congress legislator said.
"Our legislators have met the Congress legislature Party leader Ravindra Choubey and offered to resign. Their wish would now be communicated to the party high command", senior Congress leader and former minister Mohammad Akbar told TOI.
He said that the legislators were pressing for an early dissolution of the state assembly and imposition of President's rule. He also added that the members of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), who met at the residence of leader of the opposition in the assembly Ravindra Choubey, also adopted a resolution condemning the Chhattisgarh government for its alleged security lapses that led to the Maoist attack on Congress leaders.
Congress veteran and AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad were in Raipur to attend a meeting at the state party headquarters.
