Many questions remain unanswered in SIMI encounter: Mamata Banerjee
KOLKATA: Breaking her silence over the extra-judicial killing of eight under trial SIMI activists in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that her party does not believe in the ‘encounter theory’.

“We do not agree with the so-called encounter theory. Many unanswered questions arise in the minds of the people. This is all happening in the name of political vendetta. Issues like these make me deeply concerned about national integrity and unity,” Banerjee tweeted today, two days after the incident.

Meanwhile, she criticized the incident of restricting Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s entry to the house of the deceased ex-armyman who committed suicide.

“It is very sad that one of our former jawans committed suicide. It is unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi and Manish Sisodia were stopped from visiting the bereaved family. They should be allowed. Our representative, Derek O’Brien is on his way to Delh,”added Banerjee.
