KOLKATA: Gifted with abundance of scenic beauty, North Bengal could emerge as one of the most preferred tourism hubs in the country said defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, also promising every possible help from the centre.

According to parrikar not only North Bengal surrounded by countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, it also serves as a corridor to the North East India, Bihar and South Asain countries.

“The development of Bagdogra airport will play a very important role in the development of the region as a whole. The Centre will do everything to upgrade the airport,” he added.

“The Centre has already laid a special focus on North Bengal the strategic location of which is immense. “The Bagdogra airport will play a very important role in the overall development of the region,” he said.
