Manohar Parrikar pitches for North Bengal as one of the most important tourism hubs in India
The Centre will extend all-out cooperation for the development of North Bengal, said the defence minister, who was here to inaugurate a model school in Darjeeling.

According to parrikar not only North Bengal surrounded by countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, it also serves as a corridor to the North East India, Bihar and South Asain countries.
“The development of Bagdogra airport will play a very important role in the development of the region as a whole. The Centre will do everything to upgrade the airport,” he added.
“The Centre has already laid a special focus on North Bengal the strategic location of which is immense. “The Bagdogra airport will play a very important role in the overall development of the region,” he said.
