NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday blasted the BJP in the LokSabha.

Taking on the BJP, the prime minister said, "the party (BJP) uses abusive language against the UPA, but we cannot reply in the same language."

"Our economy is better than others. Our achievements can't be belittled," Manmohan Singh said while delivering the vote of thanks on President Pranab Mukherjee's speech.

Manmohan Singh further said that the current account deficit is substantially higher than we would like it to be.

"India's economic slowdown will not persist. We are determined to bring the country back to the growth path of 8%," Manmohan Singh said.
