Manish Sisodia calls on Najeeb Jung to discuss various issues

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing turf war between AAP government and Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today met the latter and discussed various issue.

The meeting between Jung and Sisodia comes a day after Delhi Law Minister Kapil Mishra issued a circular to departments not to to send files, pertaining to government except police, land and public order to the L-G.

Sources said that this matter was also discussed in the meeting.

A government spokesperson, however, denied that the issue of rift with Jung was taken up during the meeting, saying that it was a weekly meeting with the LG and routine matter was only discussed.

The AAP government and the LG has been locked in a bitter confrontation over several issues.

Earlier this week, LG gave his nod to prosecute AAP MLA Somnath Bharti in connection with alleged misbehaviour with African women during a midnight raid in south Delhi in January, 2014, rejecting the government's suggestion.

Delhi Home minister Satyendar Jain yesterday slammed Jung for his move, saying that he did not consult him before giving his nod for the prosecution.

Lt Governor today also sought file pertaining to a notification on enhancement of circle rates, saying the Arvind Kejriwal dispensation did not seek his nod for the same.

"This has reference to reports in the media about a notification being issued by the Delhi Government for enhancement of circle rates of agricultural land in Delhi," LG's office said in a statement.

In the Budget presented for the year 2015-16, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had proposed to increase circle rates on agriculture land by up to 125 per cent.
