Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh's hills outreach campaign suffered a setback as the state is witnessing serious ethnic clashes between different communities. Hills have often alleged apathy and step motherly treatment. Last year, Naga People's Front (NPF) campaign stated that this assembly polls in Manipur is for Naga unity.

The CM said Manipur could not be divided and there will be no compromise on the territorial integrity ofthe stat.. "Manipur cannot be divided as there is already geographical division of hills and valleys. I am trying to make equal development: let Hills existand valleys exist".

He added, "No more division. Manipur's Territorial integrity will be protected and interest of all the communities will be protected. This is BJP's motto."


Nagaland chief minister, Neiphu Rio said Nagas are not only in Nagaland-Nagas are in Manipur, Arunachal and Assam, the privilege and protection after peace talks will be extended to all the Nagas in India.

BJP in Manipur promised to protect the territorial integrity and preserve the rights of the indigenous people of Manipur and its rich cultural heritage in its manifesto.
