Manipur government asks departmental heads to ensure attendance of employees during general strike

The strike has been called by Maoist Communist Party, Manipur from the midnight of December 16.

Guwahati: Manipur government has asked the departmental heads to submit report pertaining to attendance of employees during the 48 hour long strike called by Maoist Communist Party, Manipur from the midnight of December 16.

Considering the the National Eligibility Test (NET) examination which is on December 18, the outfit has shortened the duration of the strike till December 17.

An order issued by Kh. Raghumani Singh, special secretary (Home) Government of Manipur, directed the administrative secretaries and head of departments to ensure attendance in all their offices and subordinate offices during the general strikes.


It said attendance report should be sent to the concerned administrative departments, failing which departmental proceedings should be taken up against those who are absent from duty during this period.

The government has also asked the shops and business establishment to remain open. “State Government considered it (strike) very seriously and decided not to cause disturbances to normal life to normal life during the strike,” it stated
