Manipur: CPI-M members with general secretary Sitaram Yechury visit relief camps
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) sent a delegation to Manipur to meet with displaced people in relief camps following the recent violence. The four-member group was led by Sitaram Yechury and met with Governor Anusuiya Uikey to apprise...

The Left delegation on Friday evening met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at the Raj Bhavan and apprised her of the prevailing situation.
"Peace must return to the troubled state. The so-called double-engine has led us to this situation. Our delegation is there to express solidarity and to hear from everyone," Yechury said.
Later, the CPI-M leader and former Rajya Sabha member posted about their visit to Manipur on social media platform X.
The other members of the CPI-M delegation are Suprakash Talukdar, Assam State Secretary, his Tripura counterpart Jitendra Choudury and former West Bengal Minister Deblina Hembrom.
Despite Home Minister Amit Shah’s plea to all communities in the strife-torn state to maintain peace,
sections of the Meitei community are intent on stalling any peace effort.
In the early hours on Friday, Meitei militants crept up on unsuspecting villagers at Thowai Kuki village,
killing three men and mutilating their bodies. Jamkhogin Haokip (26 years), Thangkhokai Haokip (35 years)
and Hollenson Baite (24 years) were all killed inside a bunker where they were sleeping.
