Mangalore International Airport to get Ebola Virus scanner

A team of Directorate General of Civil Aviation from Hyderabad and Bengaluru had visited the airport to take stock of measures to detect EVD.

MANGALURU: The Airports Authority of India has requested the Union Health ministry to set up a thermal scanner equipment to check the deadly Ebola Virus Disease ( EVD) at the Mangalore International Airport here.

A team of Directorate General of Civil Aviation from Hyderabad and Bengaluru had visited the airport to take stock of measures to detect EVD and the team was fully satisfied, MIA director J T Radhakrishna said.

Officials were now undertaking screening activities of international passengers based on symptoms and so far no passenger was detected with the virus or quarantined, he said in a statement here.
