Maneka has assets worth Rs 15 Cr, richer that sis-in-law Sonia
BJP candidate Maneka Gandhi has moveable and immoveable assets worth over Rs 15 crore, including houses and apartment in Delhi and gold jewellery worth Rs 41 lakh.
According to an affidavit filed by Maneka before Bareilly district magistrate along with her nomination papers for Aonla parliamentary seat today, the estranged daughter-in- law of the Nehru-Gandhi family has just Rs 30,010 in cash though her deposits in banks and non-banking financial institutions are to the tune of Rs 49.88 lakh .
She also had investments of over Rs two lakh in bonds, debentures and shares of companies.
The 52-year-old BJP nominee has an investment of Rs 2.12 crore in other financial instruments like national saving scheme, postal savings and LIC.
Maneka's sister-in-law and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who is contesting from Rae Bareli, had declared assets worth Rs 1.37 crore while her nephew Rahul who will seek re-election from Amethi had Rs 2.25 crore worth of moveable and immovable assets.
Unlike Sonia, who does not have a car, Maneka owns a 2006 made Tavera worth Rs 5.25 lakh.
Though Maneka prefers to dress simply, she owns gold jewellery worth Rs 41.41 lakh and silver deposits of over Rs 20 lakh.
