In the video Shaukat was seen been asked if he had the licence to sell beef, if he is Bangladeshi, if his name is there in the National Register of Citizens.
GUWAHATI: A video where a person was beaten on road and forced to eat pork for selling beef had gone viral. Victims family member have lodged FIR and police is ascertaining the authenticity of the video.

Shaukat Ali, 68 is undergoing treatment in a local hospital in Assam’s Biswanath district. Police have detained five persons in connection with the incident which took place on Sunday.

Senior police officials, who do not want to be named, told ET, “Two FIRs have been filed; one is by Shaukat’s brother. We are looking for the people in the video and verifying the authenticity of video.”

Biswanth is in Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency and is going to polls on April 11.
