Mamata to attend President's dinner programme organised in honour of Bangladesh PM

​​Banerjee today confirmed that she has accepted President Pranab Mukherjee's invitation and would be joining the dinner on April 8.

The dinner has been organised on April 8 in honour of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has accepted the invitation of President Pranab Mukherjee in Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 8. Banerjee will leave for Delhi on April 7. According to sources, Banerjee might hold a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and discuss certain issues related to West Bengal.

It was learnt that Banerjee received an invitation from the office of President Pranab Mukherjee. The dinner has been organised on April 8 in honour of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Banerjee today confirmed that she has accepted President Pranab Mukherjee's invitation and would be joining the dinner on April 8.


Even though, Bengal chief minister Banerjee earlier claimed that she received no communication from the centre in connection with the proposed draft of Teesta agreement, she agreed to attend the programme to clarify the stand of the state government, added sources.

Significantly, most of the efforts taken by the centre to take Indo-Bangla international relations a step forward, run through West Bengal.
