Mamata holds meet Adani Ports CEO over proposed investments in Tajpur Port

Tajpur port is a proposed deep-sea port to be built by the West Bengal government.

Banerjee had invited Gautam Adani to the Bengal Global Summit in Kolkata which will be held in April this year.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday held a meeting with Karan Adani, who is Chief Executive Officer of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), at Nabanna over various investments projects in Bengal.

According to sources, Adani Port has been given Berth 2 of Haldia Dock for up-gradation. Adani Group will invest Rs 298 crore in total and also pay royalty to Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Port. The expected date of commissioning is 2024-25.

Tajpur Port in East Midnapore related investments were also discussed, Nabbana sources said. Tajpur port is a proposed deep-sea port to be built by the West Bengal government.


It is pertinent to mention that on December 2, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Gautam Adani, the chairman and founder of Adani Group, had held a meeting at state secretariat Nabanna. Banerjee had invited Gautam Adani to the Bengal Global Summit in Kolkata which will be held in April this year.

Adani later tweeted "Delighted to meet @MamataOfficial, Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Discussed different investment scenarios and the tremendous potential of West Bengal. I look forward to attending the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) in April 2022."
