Mamata gives 2 days to Congress
Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday broke her silence over the issue and served a 48-hour ultimatum on the Congress leadership asking it to clear its stand within the deadline.
I have been waiting for 10 days after I had a talk with Congress leaders like Pranab Mukherjee and K Keshav Rao on the seat-sharing issue. Last night too, I had a talk with Mr Rao over telephone. I cannot wait for an indefinite period for the Congress to decide on the issue. I will wait for a day or two to take my decision," Ms Banerjee told a crowded press conference on Tuesday afternoon, giving clear indication that she might release her list after Holi.
"If the Congress is really serious about seat-sharing or electoral alli-ance, it should let us know within a day or two. I don't want to waste time. The CPM has already started campaigning. It's high time we went to the people," Ms Banerjee said.
