Mamata Banerjee’s govt takes over Saradha TV

Mamata Banerjee’s government has decided to take over two television channels of scam-tainted Saradha group. The chief minister on Thursday announced her government’s decision about the take over of “Tara News” and “Tara Music”.

“Altogether 168 employees of the two channels have made an appeal before our government to take over the channels and we have decided to do that. We have also decided to pay an ex-gratia of Rs 16,000 to each of the 168 employees from the current month,” Mamata said.
