Mamata Banerjee to attend Niti Aayog prog in Delhi, will meet with PM Modi

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister is all set to arrive in Delhi on Thursday for a four-day trip. She is likely to meet senior opposition leaders as well as to attend the Niti Aayog programme which is scheduled to be held on August 7 according to official sources.

TMC chief who landed in the afternoon, is likely tp hold a meeting in the evening with TMC MPs, some of whom have been in the forefront of protests against the government in the ongoing Parliament session. The meeting is set to take place at Rajya Sabha member Sukhendu Sekhar Roy's residence in Delhi.

TMC warmed up to the Congress party in Parliament and Banerjee will be meeting the Congress party president Sonia Gandhi. Gandhi is also being probed by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.


Sources have also said that besides from attending the NITI Aayog session, Mamata Banerjee might also attend a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During her stay in Delhi, the West Bengal CM could pay a visit to President Droupadi Murmu.

Official sources also said that Mamata Banerjee might hold discussions over certain political matters with other non-Congress opposition leaders at the central hall of Parliament. She is expected to return to Kolkata on Monday.
