Mamata Banerjee slams Centre for using ED and CBI against Bengal Government

Slamming BJP-led Centre for attempting to weaken the Bengal government by using agencies like ED and CBI, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stood by Birbhum District President Anubrata Mondal, "Kesto" who was arrested last Thursday, and questioned his arrest. She also lashed out at the Centre and Enforcement Directorate for calling Bengal IPS officers to New Delhi. Banerjee also questioned why cattle were sent through Bengal and claimed BSF, which guards the border, is under the Union Home Ministry. "Coal India is under whom? Who is in-charge of borders? It is under Union Home Minister Amit Shah," Mamata Banerjee attacked the Centre.

"You arrest one Kesto and many more such leaders will come up. Trinamool Congress is not scared of BJP," Banerjee said.
She dared the ED to arrest Firhad Hakim, Abhishek Banerjee and also sought support from people asking whether they will take to movement if Mamata Banerjee gets arrested.


She warned the leaders and workers not to get scared. "There is an attempt to scare you. I will fight till my last breath," Banerjee said.

Talking about the BJP's attempt to topple several government's, Banerjee said, "There is an attempt to weaken the state governments. The Maharashtra government was toppled. Then, they were trying to topple the Jharkhand government but I have prevented it."

Mamata Banerjee slammed the BJP-led central government and claimed the Modi government will not come to power in 2024.

Meanwhile, Birbhum District President Anubrata Mondal is mostly keeping silent and not co-operating with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during interrogation in connection with multi-crore cattle smuggling scam. Meanwhile, altogether 45 properties of Anubrata Mondal and several police personnel in Birbhum's various police stations are reportedly under scanner. Mondal was taken for a medical check up today at Command Hospital.
