Voicing concern over the BJP allegedly bringing in 500 teams from various parts of the country to Bengal to conduct voter surveys, chief minister Mamata Banerjee raised her pitch on the enfranchisement rights of the people of her state, and claimed that there was a conspiracy related to NRC in Bengal ahead of the 2026 polls.

At a public rally on Foundation Day of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), Banerjee said voters should not share personal details with such people doing surveys and must cast their votes. She also informed that Aadhaar cards were now accepted. "They will strike off your names from the electoral rolls. Be vigilant, and check your names in the list," she said. She said people's trust lies only with the Trinamool Congress and her party would win the 2026 assembly polls with more seats than the previous one.

"In the coming polls, our seats will increase....We do development and will continue to do more. But you (BJP) take away people's rights and torture the poor by labelling them as "Bangladeshis". I do not believe in discrimination, I believe in humanity," Banerjee said.
