Earlier, Banerjee had attacked the Bengal unit of Congress on several occasions and even poached its sole MLA. The state Congress, however, continued its attack on Trinamool. The party's state chief, Adhir Ranjan, on Saturday said, "Trinamool Congress leaders are corrupt and the BDOs and state administration work at the direction of Trinamool Congress."
Political Analyst Udayan Bandyopadhyay said, "All the parties, that are part of INDIA, have to go to people and tell them that the alliance is to stop BJP at the Centre."
