Mamata Banerjee promised to be with Lalu Yadav to join Maha-rally in August

KOLKATA: Responding to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s invitation to join the ‘maha-rally’ in Patna on August 27, Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that her party had accepted the invitation and she would join the meeting. Mamata Banerjee’s response to the RJD chief came hours after Income Tax officials raided his associate companies in Delhi and NCR region.

Yadav had earlier posted in a micro-blogging site that BJP would be trying to arrest him before the ‘maha-meeting’. "BJP says dey wil jail me asap so our proposed 27th Aug Maha-Rally can't tk place. Haha. My name is Lalu& I pity 4 such intimidators (sic),”he wrote.

Quoting the tweet, Mamata Banerjee posted, “Lalu Ji we accepted your invitation to be there on Aug 27. We will be there.” Banerjee is in Delhi on three-day trip. She met Congress president Sonia Gandhi to discuss Opposition’s strategy on Presidential election.
