Mamata Banerjee meets Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

Amid a debate on the issue of presidential candidate, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

NEW DELHI: Amid a debate on the issue of presidential candidate, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Trinamool Congress chief had yesterday met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and is believed to have discussed the possible candidate for Presidential polls due in July.

Banerjee reached the Race Course Road official residence of Singh this evening.

At the meeting, she is understood to have also sought a three-year moratorium on repayment of loan to the Centre.

Her meeting with the Prime Minister also assumes significance as it comes on the eve of the meeting of chief ministers on NCTC issue.

She has been vocal in her opposition to the anti-terror organisation terming it as against the principles of federal structure.
