Union minister Bhupendra Yadav has accused West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee government of playing vote-bank and appeasement politics and failing to stop infiltration.

Banerjee's regime has been marred by a "dark phase" of misrule, including the Sandeshkhali and Murshidabad incidents, corruption in the education sector, misgovernance and law and order issues, the union minister said, addressing the media on the occasion of 11 years of the Narendra Modi government. He said PM Modi has chalked out a roadmap for Bengal. "But to transform that plan into reality, Bengal must have a clear policy without bad governance and free of appeasement policies," Yadav said.

"Law and order is a state subject and the state should work on infiltration. Mamata Banerjee is running away from her responsibilities," he said.
