Mamata Banerjee destroying Congress in West Bengal, says Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today, accusing her of "self-interest" and tarnishing Congress interests in Bengal. Both leaders' parties are members of the newly formed opposition allianc...

“We also call ‘bharat’ but removing the name ‘India’ is not correct. Without amending the Constitution, changing the name is unacceptable. This has been done unconstitutionally. In the preamble of the Indian Constitution, it is written, “We the people of India…” There is no point in changing the name India,” Banerjee said.
“We use Bharat, Hindustan and in Bengali we also use “Bharat barsho”. They (Centre) must have thought about the INDIA alliance, so they have removed the name,” Banerjee observed.
Bringing the reference of the President’s dinner ceremony ahead of the G20 summit and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s presence, Chowdhury said, “Banerjee is destroying Congress in Bengal while she is conversing with UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at G-20 President's dinner.”
Chowdhury claimed that Mamata Banerjee is part of the INDIA alliance for her own self-interest. “Didi is resorting to the INDIA alliance to save herself. She only understands her own self-interest. She is chatting with Yogi Adityanath at President's dinner while destroying the Congress in Bengal. This is Didi's formula of INDIA,” Chowdhury said. He mentioned Trinamool's violence in Panchayat.
Banerjee criticized the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and said, “I did not like the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. There could have been discussion."
Banerjee to travel abroad
The West Bengal Chief Minister and her team will visit Dubai, Madrid and Barcelona in Spain to draw investments for the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS).
“I am travelling abroad after five years as I did not receive permission to travel abroad prior to this. We will go to Madrid and then Barcelona for a business summit to draw investments. There is a three day programme in Madrid. We will also meet the NRIs… There is also a business summit in Dubai also. We will hold meetings with the businessmen for drawing investments for BGBS,” Banerjee said.
Spain was a partner in Book Fair and we hope they will be partners in BGBS, she added.
