KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed her condolence for the victims of the deadly earthquake in Afghanistan.

"Sad to hear about the loss of so many lives in the earthquake that hit south Asia. My prayers with the victims' families," Banerjee said in a statement.

At least 130 people were killed and over 1,000 others injured today as a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake rocked northern Pakistan, prompting the government to rush army personnel to the affected areas for rescue operations.
