Mamata Banerjee blames BJP for attack on nephew's convoy

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday blamed the BJP for the attack on the convoy of Trinamool's National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and state minister Birbaha Hansda's last night, while refraining from accusing Kurmis for the attack Meanwhilte, more than five persons, including Kurmi leaders, were arrested for their involvement in the attack by police.

"Birbaha Hansda's vehicle was vandalised. She is a daughter of the tribal community. I don' believe my Kurmi brothers could be involved in the attack. In the name tribal community, posing as Kurmi leaders, BJP has attacked the convoy of Abhishek and Hansda. They were attempting to attack Abhishek Banerjee. Police will do whatever action is needed," Mamata Banerjee said. Kurmi community leaders claimed on Saturday morning that they had no hands in the attack on the convoy of Abhishek Banerjee.
