Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi has joined other BJP officials in criticising the AAP over DCW chief Swati Maliwal's alleged molestation charges, asserting that it was all a part of a plot by Delhi's ruling party to malign the nation's capital. Lekhi questioned how far Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would go to malign and ruin the city.

Lekhi claimed that the guy whom the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairwoman accused of molestation of her is an AAP member and that the accusations are a part of a plot to discredit Delhi.

BJP leaders believe that Maliwal, who was hired by the AAP administration, orchestrated the event to attack Delhi Police, which is under the control of the Centre.

Maliwal alleged that while on a nighttime inspection, a drunk man assaulted her and dragged her for 10 to 15 metres by his car outside AIIMS with her hand stuck in the vehicle's window. The accused, a 47-year-old man, has been arrested.

Manoj Tiwari, Shazia Ilmi, and the working president of the BJP's Delhi unit, Virendra Sachdeva, have earlier criticised the AAP over the accused's alleged association with the party.
