Maldives President to present PM Narendra Modi with top award

The award is being given in “recognition of the many services PM Modi has performed to cement the longstanding, amicable ties between our two countries.

The ceremony for confer the award will be held Saturday evening at the President’s office, as part of the Prime Minister’s State Visit to be made to the Maldives.
New Delhi: Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will present the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the ‘Order of the rule of Izzudeen’ in recognition of the Indian PMs contribution to bilateral ties.

The award is being given in “recognition of the many services he has performed to cement the longstanding, amicable ties between our two countries, and for the magnanimous assistance that the Indian government has continued to provide the Maldives under Prime Minister Modi’s stewardship.”

The ceremony for confer the award will be held Saturday evening at the President’s office, as part of the Prime Minister’s State Visit to be made to the Maldives.


Modi has chosen Maldives as maiden destination of his visit abroad in his second term with focus on Indian Ocean Region and among deliverables include an address to Maldives Parliament, inauguration of radar, defence training institute, white shipping agreement besides offer to build cricket stadium.
