Maldives Foreign Secretary Ali Naseer Mohamed discusses bilateral issues with Sushma Swaraj

NEW DELHI: Foreign Secretary of Maldives Ali Naseer Mohamed today called on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and discussed various bilateral issues.

Mohamed's trip comes just two days after Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar visited Maldives on the concluding leg of his ' SAARC yatra' aimed at firming up India's ties with the grouping's members.

A number of issues figured in the meeting between Swaraj and Mohamed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chosen not to go ahead with visiting Maldives during his trip to a number of nations in the region in March following political unrest in that country.
