Make public the contents of framework agreement with NSCN-IM and Centre: Tarun Gogoi
GUWAHATI: With Assam going to polls in spring this year, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday asked the Centre to make public framework agreement with NSCN-IM.

NDA led government in the centre and militant outfit, NSCN-IM inked framework agreement in August last year. Gogoi along with other North-eastern states has been asking for making the clauses of the agreement public.

Gogoi said it is still a mystery as the clauses of the accord are kept under carpet even today.

Gogoi said, “We welcome the Naga peace deal but it is quite astonishing why the clauses of the deal are kept in the dark. To keep such an important document under wraps for long raises doubt about its veracity”.

Gogoi said, “ We will oppose tooth and nail any move that affects interests of Assam.”

Gogoi also urged the Centre to make the clauses of the Naga peace deal public and ensure that geographical boundary of each State under the frame work of the constitution of the country is kept intact.

There has been pressure on NSCN-IM leadership from different quarters to make public the details of the agreement. Integration of Naga inhabited areas of Northeast and Myanmar is one of the core demand of the NSCN-IM's several decade old insurgency movement.
