Maitree Summit 2013: Youth Forum discusses shaping of foreign policy with neighbouring states

The event is supported by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata and Embassy of Bangladesh in India.

GUWAHATI: The Youth Forum on Foreign Policy (YFFP) has organised a daylong conference the Maitree Summit 2013, India Bangladesh High Potential Leader's Dialogue on Peace in Guwahati on Friday.

The 2013 Maitree Summit is the first of a series of conferences that YFFP intends to hold with India's neighbouring states. The event is supported by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata and Embassy of Bangladesh in India.

The summit include panel discussion, cultural visits, and interactions with senior representatives of Government of Assam including the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Minister of Tourism Chandan Brahma and Minister of Power Pradyut Bordoloi. Main theme of the Summit is focus on International Relations, Industry, Education, Socio-economic development and Governance.

This initiative is aimed at connecting Foreign Policy Stakeholders and youth groups from India and abroad on the same platform to discuss specific thematic and regional foreign policy issues.
