Mahila Congress seeks 33 per cent seats for women in Rajasthan polls

Mahila Congress national president Shobha Ojha said that to garner more support, a state-level rally will be held before October 10.

JAIPUR: The Mahila Congress today said it will request the party high command to give 33 per cent of the seats to women candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan.

Mahila Congress national president Shobha Ojha said that to garner more support, a state-level rally will be held before October 10.

She added that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi are likely to attend the rally.

Ojha said Mahila Congress is going through the bio-data of nearly 700 women who want to contest from various seats, and selecting potential candidates before sending their names to the high command for consideration.
