Maharashtra polls: Congress candidate in Chhagan Bhujbal's Yeola constituency pulls out

NASHIK: Congress candidate from Yeola Assembly constituency, Nivrutti Lahare, has said he was pulling out from the election and extending support to NCP stalwart Chhagan Bhujbal.

However, Lahare's name would remain on the ballot paper as deadline for withdrawal of nominations has passed.

Lahare told PTI today that he took the decision after getting negative feedback from people during campaigning.

Meanwhile, on the directions of Maharashtra Congress chief Manikrao Thakre, Lahare has been expelled from the party, said district Congress secretary Sunil Avhad today.
