Mumbai: Maharashtra has seen a worrying increase in people who are testing positive for the corona virus. Worryingly the virus seems to have entered in to Maharashtra’s interiors. On Monday the state total number of positive cases reached 97.

The new cases have been found from Sangli- 4, Satara-1 and three from Mumbai.

The results have worried the state as well as the center as only till Friday morning the state had 52 cases in a span of three days the cases have almost doubled.


In fact on Monday morning the state had 89 cases by evening it jumped to 97. The Maharashtra government has already ordered a curfew and has given blanket legal immunity to government and police officials to handle the situation. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has already ordered for district borders to be sealed as well as the state’s borders to combat the virus.

Anticipating a further increase in cases, the Maharashtra government has decided to have testing facilities in all medical colleges by March 27th and has made arrangements for 500 beds in government hospitals in Mumbai.
