ET Awards 2022 | Address by Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra
Maharashtra is no longer in the grip of policy paralysis and is open to business for all, state chief minister Eknath Shinde said at the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence 2023.

“Mumbai is an international city. Our government has managed to remove all the speed breakers that were delaying infrastructure projects,” he said, referring to the two-and-a-half year tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. “Our government is pro-growth, pro-development, pro-industry, pro-people, pro-employment.”

The state government is focusing on hastening investment approvals.

“For business and growth, Maharashtra offers bigger opportunities. We are providing single-window approvals for faster clearance of projects,” Shinde told the august gathering of industry leaders and top officials.

He also informed the gathering that Maharashtra had signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 1.37 lakh crore at World Economic Forum in Davos. Several of these projects are being executed, he added. All the key infrastructure projects that were stalled under the MVA government will be cleared soon, the chief minister said.
Shinde thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and the speedy approval of projects in Maharashtra.

“Our Prime Minister has taken up a mission to make India a $5 trillion economy by 2025-26 and I would like to add that Maharashtra will contribute to this in a big way by becoming a $1 trillion economy,” he said.

Shinde paid tribute to the ET Awards for its role in recognising the contributions made by corporate India and motivating industry to participate fully in the growth of the country’s economy.
