Former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday continued his tirade against the Eknath Shinde government over investments going to Gujarat, asking if that was due to the impending assembly elections in the neighbouring state and demanded the resignation of industries minister Uday Samant.

The latest trigger for this attack was Gujarat getting the Tata-Airbus aircraft project, which Maharashtra was also vying for.

"Projects are going from the state, whether it is due to the assembly polls in Gujarat or whether it is due to more facilities being offered by that state as compared to Maharashtra. Investors seem to have lost faith in the state government here and are moving away from the state. All this is happening because those who have come to power are doing politics instead of governance," said Aaditya Thackeray.

The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader demanded the resignation of Samant, claiming that the minister was clueless about the functioning of his department. "If the project had already gone out of the state, why was Samant talking of getting it in the state," he asked.
