MUMBAI: The Maharahstra government has finally announced a judicial probe into the Adarsh housing society scam. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday announced the constitution of a two-member judicial panel to probe the scam.

Former Bombay High Court chief justice J A Patil will head the panel while former chief secretary of the state P Subramanian will be its second member.

The judicial commission will submit its report to the government within three months, said Chavan.

The Adarsh scam has rocked the state Congress forcing Ashok Chavan to resign after his close relatives including his mother-in-law were found to own flats in the controversial Adarsh society.

Several top polticians and defence officials are under the scanner in the scam.
