MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said here today that his government is committed to ensure skills development among youth through educational reforms and also help enhance their overall personality.

"Maharashtra is a young state, where 50 per cent of the population is under the age of 25 years. The average age of the state is 27. My government will focus their overall development," Fadnavis said, while inaugurating the 15th Parle Mahotsav.

Fadnavis said that platforms like Parle Mahotsav help provide platform for the youth.

Parag Alavani, the MLA who organised the Mahotsav appealed to the Chief Minister to encourage such events at the taluka level.

Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was prominent among those present on the occasion.

The ten-day Mahotsav would witness sports, music, art and cultural events in which thousands of youth are expected to participate.
